Wow old footage I found of myself. Yeah why not let them know how it was back in the day. This was my everyday thing after school in the kitchen back in 1990 dancing in my kitchen. Wishing I can be like Scoob and Scrap lover dancers for Big Daddy Kane. We use to battle in this style of dance in a apache line at the high school dances. Just keeping it real. They would laugh at us at this time if we were to break or pop. So I always had to blend popping with this style to play it off. At a talent show that year after our performance they loved it but then in then at the end I went down for a back spin and the crowd laughed. I remember a girl saying "No body does that no more." Yeah so we could never break in public in this town as breaking was dead. But 2 years later we slowly saw it coming back as many Modesto kats were still dancing like I am here but adding 1990s and bboy moves and Stockton as well as we all created a more freestyle dance that many folks today are doing. Walt Jay also helped bring that style out and Remind a Stockton native brought the Stockton style to the public in the bboy world. Since I went through all the styles back then and all the way today I have it in my soul as no matter what kind of music I hear I can dance to it to any style. Even the hyphie stuff as I like to mimic them and add my style to it and bring them kats down. This is why I don't just say I'm just a bboy, I'm a dancer. Ok so tonight I feel like going out and salsa dance at the latin club.
Blessings
