Description:: From 1989. This footage originally had 4 minutes of dance followed by the interview. I've edited it so that the interview is first. Gays have contributed a lot to the performing arts for which they can be proud. Vogue was not one of them. While the dance was a lot less silly in its original context (the gay dance ball runways of Harlem), many now ask, "What were we thinking???" For a fascinating look at the real "vogue" subculture, rent Paris is Burning.
